Modes
The most powerful speech system in Second Life. Fast, efficient, and infinitely customizable. (Note: Do NOT use any symbols)
Mode Selection
Selecting a Mode will enable that Mode, apply restrictions, and any rules associated with it.
Creating Modes
Modes can be customized to the tiniest detail, let’s check out everything you can edit.
Delete
Discards the changes or deletes the mode if it’s an already existing mode.
Save
Saves the new modes or applies the changes to the mode you were editing.
Duplicate
Creates a new mode that is an exact copy of this one.
Name
Sets the name of the mode, the one people will see when entering any mode menu.
Title
Sets the name of the user when they speak.
Note: if you want it to just be the user’s display name, set it to ‘none’.
Pronouns
Sets the word that will automatically replace all pronouns (I, I’ll, I’m, etc.)
Owner
Sets the title that will replace the names of all people who set as Owners when this Hearing Mode is enabled.
Trusted
Sets the title that will replace the names of all people who set as Trusted when this Hearing Mode is enabled.
Group
Sets the title that will replace the names of all people who have Group Access when this Hearing Mode is enabled.
RLV
Sets the restrictions that will apply when this mode is enabled.
Silence
Here you can set keywords that will silence the user when someone with access says them in local.
Auto-Silence — If you want the user to be automatically Silenced upon mode enable, simply set a keyword as [!]
Deafen
Here you can set keywords that will deafen the user when someone with access says them in local.
Auto-Deafen — If you want the user to be automatically Deafened upon mode enable, simply set a keyword as [!]
Speak
Here you can set keywords with custom message allowances that will allow the user to speak up to X messages when spoken in local by someone with access. You set the keyword first, then the amount of messages, or simply -1 for unlimited.
Hear
Here you can set keywords with custom message allowances that will allow the user to hear up to X messages when spoken in local by someone with access. You set the keyword first, then the amount of messages, or simply -1 for unlimited.
Scramble
Enables/disables whether chat will be scrambled when the user tries to speak. This rule is impacted by the intensity level.
Muffle
Enables/disables whether chat will be scrambled when the user hears it. This rule is impacted by the intensity level.
Replace
Replace is a powerful rule that allows you to set a variety of things.
Note: You can also have a word/replace-all be replaced by multiple words by simply setting the word to replace it with as a CSV. Example: goddess,princess,queen,perfection
Auto-replace — To do auto-replace, simply set [word to be replaced] and [word to replace it with]
Word insertion — To have words be randomly inserted into text, simply set [word to be inserted] and [%]
Exempt words — To set exempt words that are exempt from all rules, simply set [word to be exempted] and [+]
Blocked words — To set words that are automatically censored, simply set [word to be blocked] and [-]
Replace all — To set words that will replace everything, simply set [!] and [word to replace it with]
Position
This will set where on the list you want this mode to be, with 0 being first on the list.
Speech/Hearing
This will set this Mode as a Speech or Hearing mode.
